Hi. I would like advice please

Featured Replies

Hi.

I would like to ask members for remapping advice.
A few friends have had nothing but problems.i dont think they understand and are asking too much of their engine.

I would like to save fuel and gain a bit of power. I don’t expect a remap to make my fiesta into a race car.

Do i need a wired link to a laptop or could i use a wireless ODB.

many thanks in advance.

Hi Kevin,

It would be helpful if you mentioned exactly which engine you have.

A 2010 won't be turbocharged petrol, and remaps do very little for normally aspirated petrol engines.

If you have a TDCI, useful gains may be had from a remap.

Apologies.
i have a 1.4 tdci .2010 zetec

Definitely need a wired connection to the laptop.  Don't want to brick your ECU because of wireless interference!

Can recommend HDI Tuning, costs about £100 if flashing yourself and increases power to around 90bhp.

Many members have seemed happy with Superchips, though I have no direct personal experience. Their offering  gives a  similar increase at a higher cost (about £300) but that includes installation by their mobile technician I believe.

Thank you Tom.
I was thinking a wireless connection would be possibly unstable.

Thank you Eric

technician would probably be best if I needed it straight away

however ,

the old school fix it yourself guy in me

tells me to do more research and diy.
Thanks again guys
