Mondeo mk5 new (refurbished) steering rack coding to car HELP!!!

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong place but just looking for some guidance.

i had the steering rack replaced with a refurbished unit (wasnt the recall fault) and ever since ive had the lane assist need servicing message on the dash when i start up, no lane assist, no self park either.

im getting some other little gremlins also like the speed zone doesnt come on the dash anymore (i think i may have turned it off by mistake on forscan when trying to be clever)

anyone had this issue or know how to fix? as i didnt have it done at ford apparently they wont touch it with a barge pole and would rather charge me £1300 for a new one.

 

any help is appreciated.

    Like other manufacturers models with similar/same design racks (eg BMW,Mini, Land/Range Rover) any replacement rack has to be programmed to the car.

    If a Ford dealer won't do it (you could ask them to on the understanding you sign a disclaimer denying them of any liabilities whatsoever) you can only try and find a specialist that does it.

    Surprised your supplier does not offer the service - try googling replacement rack suppliers, see if they will do it
