Urgent help needed with part open sunroof.

Featured Replies

Sunroof is not fully closed, could someone please direct me to a page containing a wiring diagram for 2011 Mondeo MK4.

If the sunroof is still able to be moved by the motor but is not fully closing it needs to relearn the open and close positions.

See owners handbook page 118 to 120 which explains how to reset and reteach the sunroof.

Thank you for your reply unofix but I did not explain myself very well in my initial post. The sunroof does not move when the switch is operated, hence my request for a circuit diagram, it is currently just off of  the tilted position. I would have thought that there was an emergency release somewhere! Certainly puts me off owning a car with a sunroof again.

There is on almost all cars an emergency manual closing behind the overhead consul. Ford even used to have a little cranked handle supplied with the car, clipped up behind the consul. These two videos will give you the general idea of what you need to do.

Once again unofix, thank you for your help.

Reading the owners manual you pointed me to has highlighted that the sunroof can go into "Safety" mode where by it only moves for 1/2 second when the button is pressed, which would make you think that there is a fault with it! Thinking about it this problem has only occurred since the battery was replaced, so that might explain why it went into "Safety" mode. Anyway roof now fully closed and will carry out the "Relearning" procedure next spring/summer.

Whilst the roof panel was removed to gain access to the switch I looked for an emergency release/handle and could find no means of manually closing the roof.
