2019 electric window switch broken

Featured Replies

Hi anyone else with a Focus MK4 where the electric window switch plastic 'rocker' has physically broken? On the driver's door panel, the drivers electric window switch has cracked and the silver trim piece come adrift. The switch itself still works but looks unsightly.

Friend picked me up yesterday, he has a 68 plate ST line and noticed his is cracking exactly the same. I guess this is because A) it's the most used switch and B) the part quality is c**p. Unfortunately I think you have to replace the complete console which are going for upwards of £50 on fleabay, unless you can replace individual switches or the 'rocker' cover itself? Anyone know a part number for the cheapest option?

Yes it's been mentioned on the forum many times before. The plastic degrades easily if subjected to: Perfume, or scented handcream, or hand sanitizer gel, or aftershave. There are probably many other things the plastic doesn't like !

Wrong model year? That says 2011-2017 ours is a 2019

Ours has this symbol as well which differs from the eBay part

I have a 2018 Focus Vignale and had this problem on both front window switches on the drivers side. They were replaced without question under warranty by my dealer.

7zap was never updated to include the Mk4 Focus so most of us can only find part numbers up to Mk3.5 unfortunately.

Being a 2019, I take it you're only just out of manufacturers warranty now?

Yes in March but have a used car warranty from Bristol Street Motors so will try to claim on that. It says mechanical and electrical components covered except wear items - brakes, clutch, tyres etc.

Got appointment at Ford garage tomorrow, as nearest dealer to me. Looks like it will be replaced under warranty.
