fuse box power

Featured Replies

my mondeo mk5 2016 diesel  .Heated front screen not working i checked fuses theyare ok then i checked the power going to both fuses for front windscreen there was no power at all on both fuses does anyone no where the power for the screen comes from and is it possible to jump them from some where else .does the power come from the alternator if so does it go through any other stuff before getting there

The heated front screen requires a few conditions to be met before it will operate.

First the battery state of charge (SOC) needs to be at least 70%

Second the engine must be running

Third the outside air temperature has to be 7oC or colder

These conditions are monitored by the Body Control Module (BCM), so in all probability there is nothing actually wrong with your screen, only that one on more conditions have not been met.
