My car doesn’t start

Featured Replies

Hello I have a cmax 2016 stop/ start diesel  couple of weeks ago I had a problem starting it in the cold weather but it eventually started after 1/2 hour but unfortunately about a week ago I got stuck as it cut itself out and wouldn’t start again

the lights and dash are all working we have changed the battery and had it on diagnostics but nothing came up it clicks when I press the stop start button but nothing happens but all lights and radio are working fine has anybody have any suggestions as I really need to use my car to get to work

Does the radio cut out or lights dim when trying to start?  Basically the voltages need to be ascertained at the battery, starter solonoid and starter motor .

It’s not unheard of to have new batteries with faults. Have you tried jumpstarting from another vehicle?

What clicks, is it the starter solenoid mounted on the side of the starter motor or a lesser click from a relay somewhere else?
