Sync traffic information

Not sure if anyone can help me with this but here goes. 

Does anyone on here know where or how the sync system acquires it's traffic information and road closed information?

I ask as sometimes it has more accurate road closures than Google maps and other times it doesn't, so it's a hit or miss as to how accurate/reliable it is.

Any information gratefully received.
