2015 Fiesta door locks

Featured Replies

I had the rear near side door replaced after some damage was caused. The door lock does now not work, I have checked the fuse situated in the engine compartment and it is OK. Is there another fuse somewhere or do you have to reset the locks in anyway? Thanks

Did you transfer the door control module ?

Is the door identical to the original ?

That, and are all the electrical checks made, all parts from your vehicle should be fitted to a donor door

Unfortunately the guy who did it did not use the lock from the original door but the donor scrap door which he repainted. I did try another door lock but this didn't work. You can easily get replacement locks from ebay or scrap yards so I would have expected they could be replaced. I was wondering if somehow you have to rest the locking system.

The door locking system is controlled by programmed modules. Depends on the system that is or was fitted to your model as to what now needs to be done to repair the fault.

These are the problems you get when the door electrics are not transferred to the donor door:-

So does that mean without the original door parts there is nothing I can do? The door lock came from a car with a window winder rather than electric windows. Not sure if the front window was electric or mechanical though.

If your car has electric windows and the replacement door has mechanical window winders then the two systems are incompatible.

Fiesta's that have only front electric windows have the door locks and windows controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM). Fiesta's that have electric windows both front and rear have the door locks and the windows controlled by a Door Control Modules. There is a DCM located in the front passenger door (PDM) and another located in the drivers door (DDM), these also control the rear doors.

You need a replacement door from a vechicle with the same type of windows as your car had originally.

The original door had mechanical windows as did its repalcement. I know now he should have transferred all the parts but is there a way forward? surely there must be some way to get the lock to work again.

Yes,

You need to fit the correct latch assy, they're NOT coded, but they must match.

As it's a rear door, Remove the latch assy from the opposite door and write down the full part number, it will be **** 24994 ** as it's on your right door.

The assy part number is normally on the latch part

Then get a second hand replacement latch assy that ALL of the * letters match only you will need the number to be 24995 for your left hand door

For example:

If your RH door latch is 9H32 24994 BA

The replacement LH latch must be 9H32 24995 BA

Many thanks I will give that a go.
