The 40A fuse controlling the powered tow hitch on my 1.6 TDCi Mondeo Estate blows occasionally, probably as the hitch mechanism isn't used that often. The problem I have is finding a supplier of this type of fuse. Our local Ford dealer (who did get me two a few years ago) can't find it on their database.  It's an enclosed type (not blade) as per the photos. What would be even better is a kit of various fuses of this type. Various motor factors I've been to have never seen this type of fuse.

    Difficult to tell for sue from the photos but that looks like a "Low profile J type fuse"

    That is absolutely great - many thanks. Saved me hours of searching; knowing the type is half the battle as most outlets just look blank when I've shown them the fuse.
