Is electronic brake, activates by it self?

Hi guys, I just bought a Ford Mondeo 2015 so I am a new member in the family. Trying to sort some things. Does the electronic parking brake activates when you turn off the motor? Or you need to set it "manually" , meaning pulling the electronic brake? And by the way anyone knows where to download a service manual for the Mondeo 2015 hatchback?

    Welcome to having a mondeo.

    The electronic handbrake needs to be applied manual when the car stops.  there is no auto applying.  I know its a pain in the back side but there is no simple way around it.

    With regards to a service manual there isnt one.   Haynes decide not to do one for the mk5.  However there are loads of youtube clips and of course this and other forums where you can get help
