Breakdown Cover

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just wondering who people use for their breakdown cover?

My Dad always used to use RAC and up until recently I was a named person on my bros AA cover, but now I've got to sort out my own cover, was gonna go down the AA route and pay the £50 ish but I just did a quick search and found a company called the Green Insurance Co for only £29.99, so what I'm asking is do people think it best to stick with 1 of the big two companies or are the cheaper ones any good? Any recommendations? I'm mostly concerned about whether the little companies have enough breakdown trucks or whether id be waiting ages for them to turn out? Any thoughts?

Cheers :)

hi

here is how it works

the aa & rac use their own vans for callouts etc..

all other breakdown firms like greenflag use local breakdown firms in your area.

i have had green flag for years & alwas been ok for me but

now my insurance offer me full rac cover for about £65.00 so i took it

as it worked out the same as i was paying for green flag

i must say that i had to use the rac & they were brilliant.

the smaller breakdows are good though m8.

i would phone you insurance company & ask for a price from them as most offer breakdown

but check for the cover you need

i.e homestart etc

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yeah I might give the insurance co a try, Im with tesco and when I spoke to them last week they actually said they could do me a deal on breakdown cover but at the time I was in a rush to get off the phone so think i'll give them another call.

I definately want homestart included.
