Fitting Rear Dash Cam in MK3

Hi, Just took delivery of a 23plate ST Line Xed FHEV and have a question about fitting a rear dash cam. 
my previous Kuga you could run the rear to front cable up the rubber tube containing the wiring for the boot.. my new car it appears that tube is completely sealed?

also while finding this out I’ve noticed they have changed the way it connect to the car as well.. it used to just plug straight in.. now it has a separate plastic piece that I can’t get the rubber tube back into!!

any ideas on how to run the wire and how to reconnect the tube???
