New body control module???

Featured Replies

I have already posted about my window wipers staying on, even when turned off at the stalk, and even with ignition off. Intermittent fault so doesn’t always do it but now started with the rear wipers also. Another few things to mention is my stereo sometimes just stops working, or resets itself, and also my electric windows sometimes work, sometimes dont, sometimes dont go all the way down with one press, and sometimes you press them down, nothing happens and then 30 seconds later will go down… twice I have also been out to my car and all the windows are down?? Could this be a new body control module needed from the common water damage, and if so, is it only ford that can do them? And how much we talking?

It does indeed sound very much like the BCM has a fault, probably water ingress.

You need to disconnect the car battery before investigating further. Check all the connectors on the BCM and look for signs of corrosion/greenish fur on the pins.

Remember that a replacement BCM needs to be the same part number and it will need programmed.
