Mk5 Titanium DRL dim (fog surround type)

Featured Replies

Since picking up my 2016 Mondeo a few years ago, I've noticed others on the road with either one side, or both side DRLs very dim regardless of headlights being on or off. I always hoped it wouldn't happen to mine but it has!

What used to happen was when they were on auto, during the day they would be quite bright, and when the headlights came on they would dim slightly. However, this is much more dim than that, and is only on one side now. Anyone else had this and found out what the cause was? I've seen enough of them like it on the road to know it must be a fairly common occurrence so hoping somebody might have the answer!

TIA 😀

Just like an ordinary headlamps with a filament which eventually fail, so do LED's.

Your DRL's are in use far more than any other external light fitted on your car. They are now 7 years old and just like people some don't last as long as others. Time to buy a new DRL 🙁
