Reverse Camera Re-Activate

Featured Replies

I have just purchased, 2016 MK2.5 Kuga, 45K miles, which originally had a reversing camera installed. Looks to have been stolen off the car and rather than replace it, it seems to have been deleted (possibly due to annoying message). Ford dealers local to me do not seem to know how to re-code the camera to the car, Sync 2 System. Can anyone advise me what to tell them when in for diagnosis on 'Bouncing back sunroof' and 'Auto Lights remaining on'. Obviously the camera is a nice to have. Also anyone in Fife with Forscan who can do this for me? I have tried a used, and brand new camera in position, both don't work.

If it was the genuine factory fitted camera it is unlikely to have been stolen. If it was an after market add-on then that would be the reason the dealership don't know how to re-enable it.

To help cure bounce back on the roof, lubricate all the mechanisms and then perform a reset as described in the handbook.

On the camera:

Is the original Ford wiring there? Or was it an aftermarket camera fitted?

Auto Lights always on:

Someone has been messing in Forscan and activated "Scandinavian Mode", probably to get the headlamps to work as DRLs, the lights will stay on all the time

If you sort yourself a good lead (V-Linker or OBDLink EX) and set yourself up on FORScan, you will be able to download and reinstall the original factory ASbuilt for the BCM and APIM and the lights and camera should all go back to normal
