leaky windscreen washer reservoir?

Featured Replies

My 2007 Ka has developed a fault whereby the washer reservoir seems to be leaking - it does not last long in use and when filling it up, shortly after fluid can be seen leaking from under the scuttle plate. Is this common please and can the reservoir be repaired? Do they always fail in the same place - thanks.

The reservoir is plastic and not generally repairable.

Genuine new part costs £50 - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Ford-KA-MK-1-Windscreen-Washer-Water-Reservoir-1076841-/393427144171?

You're welcome to attempt a repair with some sort of waterproof sealant if you like.

Before condemning the reservoir, check th pump carefully to make sure that isn't the cause of the leak.

As an aside, I've had a split in the top half of my washer reservoir for the past 5 years.  Just have to remember not to fill it up too high.

Thanks! I'll try the not-top-up-too-far option first and see how I go - cheers.
