2003 Ka fuel pump

Featured Replies

Anyone out there ever removed the fuel pump on an early Ka.   My Ka no longer starts but if I spray Holts easy start into the inlet it runs until the easy start is gone.  I've disconnected the red and white fuel pipes under the bonnet that feed the injector system but with ignition on no fuel comes out, I have checked the pump fuse (19) it's ok, and when I turn on the ignition i hear a click from the fuel pump relay.

I'm the wrong side of 70 and don't really fancy trying to drop the tank to get access to the tank and fuel pump. I am thinking of cutting a hole in the boot floor to get access to the pump from there.   Some people tell me that Ford put an access panel in the boot floor on some models,   NOT ON MINE THERE AIN'T.  any suggestions

I'd make sure that the fuel cutoff inertia switch hasn't tripped which shuts off the fuel pump - Haynes says "To reset the switch after an accident insert a finger through the hole in the right-hand footwell side carpet and depress the button on the top of the switch" - good luck.
