Mk3 automatic clicks into reverse but will not reverse!

Featured Replies

Hi we have a 2003 2.0 diesel automatic done 97,000 miles having problems with reverse

The car drives changes gears nicely it clicks into reverse but will not move! It had a gearbox oil change yesterday and still nothing 😣 we have spent so much money on this car we really don't want to send her to the scrap yard any siggestions would much appreciated thank you

Probably reverse solenoid, not stupidly expensive

Check that the wiring is in good condition first, ensure the signal from the Transmission Control Module (TCM) is getting to the solenoid body on the gearbox, you will need an auto elctrician or the wiring diagram to do this

Forget that idea

Watch this video especially from 16 minutes in.

DO NOT let people tell you it needs clutches or forks because you have forward gears

It's a Mk3 Mondeo Dave, not Focus.

😄Forget that idea, it's a solenoid, they probably need cleaning or the reverse solenoid has gone down.
