Help please- Screaming from engine under boost

Featured Replies

HI folks,

I have a 2008 cmax 1.6 Diesel which is starting to cost me a fortune, it's just gone over 105,000 miles and i want to keep as i use it to put my mountain bikes inside the rear. It's just had complete new EGR manifold ( same as euro 4), but now on boost the car screams, car is driving a lot better, It' hard to find where this noise is coming from even when reving the engine on a ramp. Normally i would go straight to the turbo but it was changed around 90,000. Also another strange question. Do you know if theses models have tiny vent holes. Found a tiny pin hole in the rocker cover, it's not leaking oil just a little gas pressure. Car currently in bits but im reluctant to change the turbo as it could be a boost leak, first step i think is to change all the related gaskets. Any help or thoughts appreciated

Video would be good

Thanks for the reply Dave, found a gasket blowing turbo related, unfortunately the cars in bits. Gasket set ordered will change anything boost related and report back! In relation to the pin hole in the rocker, please see attached photo. If anyone else has this engine i would be grateful for you to check.

Kind regards Duncan

That's a 1.8, not a 1.6.  The hole is normal.
