Mondeo Injector Thread

Featured Replies

Hi guys finally managed to get the injector out of my mondeo tdci but it seems some of the thread from the block has come out with in the injector thread. Will a new injector still go in ok or is it buggered? If so what can i do if anything?

Cheers lee

Hi leedog

think you may find it's a thread insert called a hellicoil.

if so you should be able to get it replaced.#

someone else should be able to help eventually, but i would not say its knackered.

tom

if there was a helicoil fitted and this has been damaged you may have a problem, to fit a new helicoil the threads in the head will have to be run through with a tap,the problem is what happens to the swarf/old helicoil as this could drop into the cylinder.
