Dashcam idea

Featured Replies

I have a 2023 Kuga FHEV.  I temporarily powered my dashcam from the 12v socket in the centre console prior to fitting my fuse piggyback.  I now find that I like the camera staying on for 20 mins after I park, great for shopping car park security and other short parking times.  I can't find where to pickup the 12+ve for the time delayed 12v socket.  Does anyone know where I can tap into the feed?

The socket is controlled and powered directly from the Body Control Module, so there will be no fuse position that you can tap in to. You could just run a wire off the back of the socket which shouldn't be too difficult.

Check your DashCam instruction manual. Many have a 'parking option' which allows the DashCam to remain in a standby state so that if jolted whilst parked, it will activate to record the incident.
