Folding rear seats in Mondeo hybrid saloon.

Featured Replies

Looking at buying a used Mondeo hybrid but the early saloons didn't have folding rear seat backs, which I would want.

Does anyone know what month/year they introduced folding seats?  I know 2019 saloons have them but 2014 don't.

Thanks.

Is the folding seats not more to do with the trim level rather than the year ?

The poverty models have fixed seats and the snob class have folding seats. I can see on AutoTrader that a 2015 Mondeo (4 door), Titanium has 60/40 folding rear seats, with a ski hatch 😉

I would agree with Unofix

However, I also note in a genuine 2015 brochure under interior features it also states that all models have 60/40 split seats that fold flat

As far as I know, no. The Titanium that you have found has always been the lowest spec version of the hybrid.

I have found several references, eg Parkers and Autotrader about the seats not folding flat in the hybrid saloon. It looks as though it may have been only 2014 cars that didn't have this feature, since that 2015 defo has the feature, as confirmed in the brochure that Tom has kindly posted..

I guess it could be that they all have 60/40 seats and all fold but I have an idea that a guy in Belgium that purchased a Hybrid in 2015 said on another Ford Forum that seats in Hybrid did not fold 100% totally flat, but I am not sure.

All the ones I've seen had folding seats as that's how we climbed into boot to get to the small 12v battery when they were flat.

My point was, did the Hybrid seats actually go as FLAT as non hybrid models
