DPF Location

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me where the DPF sensor is located on a 2009 2.2l S Max

I have shown a photo of the engine bay and any help on locating the sensor would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Thanks unofix

I was hoping it was more accessible but I might try and remove the wheel arch liner to see a bit more.

Working under the car is a bit more difficult these days due to mobility issues but ill just have to try.

Your diagram is really helpful as it includes a lot of info on the exhaust system.

Thanks again for your reply.

Update

For anyone else searching for the DPF sensor on the S-Max 2009-2016. It is located on the firewall as Unofix suggested.

It can be accessed from under the bonnet but its tight. The sensor is held to a mounting bracket with 2 nuts removeable with an 8mm 1/4 or just about 3/8" drive socket and short extension.

Its located at the back of the engine on the firewall left of the battery box looking from the front of the car.

The reason for removal was to clean out the DPF with an aerosol cleaner. Not sure if I can mention the name on the forum but if anyone wants to know just ask.

It seems to have been a complete success as power has now been restored and the DPF now regenerates.

Thanks again to unofix for your help.

Hi Brian, pleased you got it sorted.

I'd very much like to know which product you used (and where you got it) since I need to do the exact same job on my daughters Kuga. Always better to use something that has been tried and found to work.

FOC admin will be fine if you mention the name as your not an organisation advertising.
