Soot present around the Turbo

Featured Replies

Hello,

There is soot present around the turbo of a 2 liter ecoboost 203PS.
Is this because of a leaking gasket or a tear in the turbo itself ?

See image.
No errors or noticeable powerloss.

Not sure what to do.

If there are no noticeable faults then don't do anything.

Soot is probably coming from the V band clamp.  You could try tightening the nut (just visible top left of picture), but if the threaded bolt snaps then the car will be undriveable until you can replace the bolt.

I really wouldn't do anything in this case.
