Hi,

My car is showing no faults up, but randomly when driving along, will start to splutter then cut out without warning.

I have had new fuel pump and filters changed, could anyone advise something that is being missed please.

Mechanic used his machine so not sure ? sorry

 

What engine?

mondeo titanium x 2.3 automatic

Make sure the auto transmission fluid is at the correct level and in good condition, not brown

Check the condition of the HT leads that they are not breaking down, change them if you know they haven't been changed recently

Check the spark plugs and coil pack

Consider that the crank position sensor could also be faulty and starting to go down

Hi, This happened several months ago, had filters , fuel pump cat clean etc... mechanic found a crack across the top of the egr valve on the cap, so replaced this also, then all was great for several months, now started again
