After market Head unit clicking

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone, first post so please be gentle

I installed an android aftermarket head unit two years ago nd it has been brilliant

Recently, when I was driving, I got a "Headlight Malfunction" on the convers display (I have a 2011 titanium x estate)

after this happened, the head unit would be blank but emit a clicking noise which doesn't stop when you switch the engine off

I sourced a new headlight and this got rid of the headlight malfunction problem but the clicking still happens

I took the battery off and put the lights off and everything worked as normal - Head unit powers up and everything is OK. When I turn the lights on however, the display flashed off and on and eventually goes blank and back to the clicking noise. Disconnecting the battery and switching the lights off restores it.

I'm not electrical engineer but I hope someone out there can help

Many thanks

Wayne
