ABS sensor issues

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Got an issue on our family 2012 Mondeo 2.0 EcoBoost power shift. Got the classic ABS sensor issues (ABS and TC light on) and Forscan is giving me codes for all 4. I’m just slightly curious as to why all 4 would go out at the same time, making me think it’s a bigger issue at play. Also have no mileage indicator, handbrake light on constantly, rad fan constantly on and no parking sensors either. Any ideas? Thanks

Think you're right about a bigger issue there...

ABS pump plug is the first thing I'd be checking.

Focus 2007, with many random and seemingly unrelated faults would have me think of only two possible causes.

  1. Dry solder joints and broken connections on the back of the instrument cluster.
  2. Body Control Module has water ingress to the connectors.

The instrument cluster in a well known item for causing these random faults. The standard test is to give the top of the dashboard above the instruments a bit of a good thump with your hand and see if anything changes.

Water getting in to the BCM and the BCM connectors is again known to cause many unrelated faults. Disconnect the battery negative lead before investigating. Remove the connectors from the BCM and check for signs of water and/or greenish corrosion of the plug pins.

Yes, having had a couple of MK2 Foci I did think of the cluster issue but it starts and drives beautifully. I’ll give the BCM a check tomorrow

This issue isn't with Dan's Focus, it's a 2012 Mondeo...

Ah !!!

Got caught out again. I just look at the profile and expect that's what the OP is talking about.

Well on a 2012 MONDEO , I'd place my bets on the infamous water in the BCM from a faulty screen wash pump 😉
