2018 Kuga Titanium X MPG

Featured Replies

I purchased the above vehicle late June this year. It only had 3594mls on the clock. The previous owner was a disabled lady and used it to go round the corner to the supermarket once a week. I have the service documents that verify the mileage. My query is the mpg that I'm achieving, I have added another 4000mls since I bought it, but only achieve  32mpg at best. I know it is quite a heavy car, but my 3.0 litre V6 Touareg was better.

Any thoughts/ideas.

Which engine?  Manual or automatic?  2WD or AWD?

As above,

plus did you reset the fuel computer (average mpg) after you bought the car ?

My daughters Kuga AWD 2.0 TDCi automatic averages 36 mpg

Thank you for your replies. It's an automatic, AWD, 2.0 ltr. The average mpg is variable, so I guess it's accurate. Although I will reset it today.

You're not going to get much more out of that unless you remap, but then you'll only get late 30s.

Try taking it for a good run, keeping the revs at about 3,500 RPM for about 10 minutes, when hot, and see if clearing it out helps a bit

That's about the worst combination for MPG unfortunately.  Anything close to 35mpg average would be acceptable.

Thank you both for your replies. I will take it in for a service and see if clean filters help.

I'm going to tow my large caravan to Spain over Christmas. I'd better do some research and find out where all the fuel stations are!

Remap it, especially as you're towing, it will help
