P0263 - Cylinder 1 Contribution/Balance DTC

Featured Replies

Hi all, Plugged my laptop into my Edge today as had some very rough running with Transmission warning on dash at start up.

Noticed yesterday that starting was a bit rough and when parking up, the idle was a little rough. Started the car today and it struggled momentarily to start but once it did, it ran very rough almost as if 1 cylinder wasn't firing correctly. A warning come up on the dash saying something like "Transmission Limited Function". I let it run for a minute and gave it a slight rev and it then ran smooth but idled at around 1400RPM. Eventually shut it off and started again with no other issues.

Plugged my laptop in and got the below error code so assume it's either an injector or (fingers crossed) just some crap in the fuel. Went out and put some redex in and drove it a bit harder than usual and have had no issues since getting home.

Main question really is, has anybody had similar issues or know of any issues relating to this on the Edge?

Thanks 🙂

Not sure how much use the full Forscan readout is as at the time I did this, the car was running fine...

Not seen that, but the fault code is indicative of an injector problem, i.e. blocked. So, I would whip the cylinder #1 injector out, clean it and possibly change the fuel filter at the same time to rule out cr4p in the fuel rail. Possibly also get the other 3 injectors cleaned if contamination or a split is found in the old fuel filter!
