Engine cooling fan.

Featured Replies

My Bmax past it's MOT only to be told cooling fan not working causing it to overheat while on test.

He wanted to book it in straight away, but I said I will have a look at it first.

Found fan fuse blown, replaced it but fan still dead.

Odd thing is the 60amp fuse for high speed fan operation is not there and the wiring diagram doesn't say "not used" as indicated elsewhere.

Low speed fan 30amp fuse is okay.

Engine only has one fan.

Any ideas please?

Thanks in advance!!

Fan motor probably failed which tripped the fuse.  Have you tried putting 12v directly to the motor?

No I will check out the relay next.

I intend to change temperature sensor and keep the old as a spare after testing.

Then I will link up the fan to battery.

Thanks for reply!

Just remove the relay from the base. Use a short length of wire and link socket 30 direct to socket 87. The fan motor will run unless it is broken.

Thanks, but I've rigged up a couple of wires with croc-clips intending to go straight for the fan terminals.

Thanks for your reply though!
