Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI Titanium 2014 - "Limited Transmission"

Featured Replies

Good afternoon

Hope all good!

I purchased a Mondeo on the 12th September 2023 and loved it for 3 1/2 weeks, lovely condition and drove beautifully, it had a slightly lazy start first thing so I replaced the battery and then the starter motor as it persisted.

Yesterday though I started noticing spikes in the revs and then gears sticking resulting in "Limited Transmission" fault coming up meaning limping home with some engine starts and stops. Today it was undrivable and I broke down on an A road with my 2 and 4 year old in the car which was scary for them. It seems to be a big issue, I rang the garage and they are blaming me changing the battery and the TCM module needs reprogramming, can this be correct?

Attached is a scan I did with ForScan today in case that helps?

Thank you in advance, I am initiating the 30 day Consumer Rights Act to return the vehicle but I would love it to be fixed really, it is just too much money to risk losing for me.

Thanks in advance.

Lee
