2015 does kuga engine clicking

Featured Replies

Hi all my problem with my 2015 ford kuga is a clicking noise when idling and gets louder when revving the engine it’s a high pitch noise.
1 mobile mechanic told me that one injector is ***** as there is a mess around the injector but then another garage told me it’s not the injector the engine is f**ked but don’t no the problem.
can anyone help?

thanks Dan

Unplug the mucky injector and run the engine briefly.  If the noise stops, you know it was that.

Injector sounds more likely than engine failure.

Could also be something on the belt run (alternator, AC pump etc).

Hi tom thank you for your reply I will try that and just to inform you more I noticed on the oil change last week there was a hole in the oil filter which has been changed now and I lost some oil aswell is that going to make your thoughts different?

If it's been run low on oil then yes engine damage could have been caused.

I would expect the oil pressure warning to be triggered if the leak was significant though.

I'd still try unplugging the injector first.  If noise is still there, remove aux belt instead and run briefly without that.

If the noise is still there after both tests then that would add weight to an engine fault.  There's no easy way to confirm that directly though.

Ticking noise after 2000rpm and noise is coming from camshaft area at the top. I was thinking lifters ? Any suggestions?
