Mondeo Mk 1 or Mk 11

Featured Replies

I am looking for some advice on behalf of my elderly neighbour who has a Ford Mondeo but not sure of the Mk 1 or 2. It has been garage stored for the last nine years and he is looking to sell it. It is a 1.8 dohc on a L registration plate again not sure of the year 72 or 73. I am looking for some idea of it's value for him to sell the vehicle. Any comments greatly appreciated.

Mondeos are worthless, sorry.

It's clean but worth no more than about £500.

There maybe someone out there that's screaming for one, I doubt it though, but you would need to de-chav it

Bonnet is scrap, door mirrors are scrap, front bumper is scrap. And MK1 parts are scarce

It's a 1994/5 MK1

Registered in March 1994.

As above, that would have been cool during the Max Power era of the 1990s and early 2000's but you'd struggle to find anyone wanting that type of modification nowadays.  If you can get 12 months MOT on it then potentially worth around £1000.  But as it stands it's basically scrap value.

Interesting front end! Looks Impreza-ish.

Needs plenty of pics taking inside and out and putting it on eBay, let the market decide, alternatively, drop the Bangers and Cash ppl Mathewson's a line and see what they say

Funnily enough, there was some clickbait today all about 20 year old Mondeos and how they're enjoying a resurgence of poularity, and value is going up due to their relative scarcity Also, that Top Gear  rated highly  the Mk2. This was in both The Mail, and Times.

Got my second mondeo mk2 ghia x 2.5 v6 1997 about 2 months back only 39.000 miles I absolutely love it, very solid no rust at all, the first one I had was a 1999 197.000 miles same engine but was completely rusty rear arches seat belt anchor points spare wheel well was rotten through, have a good look if it's a solid car cheep and you like it grab it you can still get cheep parts on Ebay. my mondeo had them head lights I think they're called morretts I sold them on (200) and went back to stock I think they look much better oh and check if it's an early lx version they where 4x4 and rare as rocking hourse poo...
