Mondeo 2012 1.6ecoboost problems after 100k service

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

had issues with my mondeo for the last 2 weeks and it’s been in and out of the garage the entire time.

started with a new aux belt, water pump, cambelt, spark plugs and general service.
warning light and misfired so got the pins replaced on a single pencil coil.

went back 2 days later and had all the pencil coils replaced.
went back same day and took 2 days to diagnose cam shaft sensor and replaced same day. This drove fine for 20ish miles upto 50mph (didn’t take on the motorway).

warning light back on. Garage has been stumped and had to get a Ford specialist in to diagnose the sensor.  Any ideas?  My mechanic is a family friend and wouldn’t try and milk me but I feel like this is now out of his range of expertise and has had enough of seeing my car.

the car ran completely fine with 0 issues until all this work was done and this was purely to replace things before they become an issue.

thanks in advance guys

*update* new symptoms are running a little sluggish and warning lights

Sounds like it wasn't timed correctly when the belt was replaced.  Getting the timing checked by the Ford specialist might be a good idea.
