Help needed

Featured Replies

Hi. I have signed up to see if I can get some help identifying a part which was stolen from my Transit. I’m told it’s to do with the oil coolant and is a S bend. I have a video showing the connection points I have identified but the file is too big to upload so I’ll attach screenshots. I’d take it to a garage but the coolant tank is empty and I don’t want to damage my vehicle.

Thanks.  I think it's just a rubber hose that's missing.  Can't understand why anyone would go to the hassle of stealing a £10 hose though.

Part number 1372337.

Plenty of aftermarket equivalents available on eBay as well.

PS - You'll also need a couple of jubilee clamps to secure the pipe at each end.  Parts catalogue suggests they are 16-27mm.

Thanks. I now have the part but trying to get my hand in to fit the top end is nigh impossible. Do you have any advice for me at this stage? Really annoyed someone took this as it was only £17 from Vospers! But the time and hassle it is causing is excessive.

Can't offer any direct experience with these I'm afraid.  Transit's aren't really my area.

All I can suggest is heating up the hose with some warm water so it's flexible, then add a smear of coolant to the end for lubrication and try to push it from further back rather than right near the end.

If that doesn't work, maybe ask someone with smaller hands to try.  Only other option is removing other parts for access.  Looks like it's the plastic intake manifold in the way so that's easy enough to remove.  Just take care not damage any seals in there.
