Heated rear window button is disabling DAB / Radio

Featured Replies

Just bought a 2nd had 2017 Edge Sport and I have noticed a bit of a weird issue with the heated rear window button and the DAB. Yesterday was the first day when I needed to clear the windscreens so I got in to the car and turned on the max heat button. I noticed the radio did not come on and despite trying all DAB pre-sets and the FM pre-sets, I could not get any radio signal. As I was late I drove to my appointment using apple car play.

When I got in to the car on the way home the DAB was working fine again, so when I got home I started to test out a few things and discovered that when I turn on the heated rear window it seems to interact and block out the DAB / radio completely, if I turn the button off then the radio works fine.

Has anyone experienced this or can give any advice before I consider taking it in to Ford?

Thanks

Has the rear windscreen been replaced? Does it have a Ford logo?

The radio antenna is often built in to rear or rear side windows.
