Diesel oil system cleaner?

Featured Replies

Took the Mondeo Titanium X TDCI in for its annual service today at Halfords and it all came back pretty much in tip top condition although under Recommendations it suggested “Recommend oil system cleaner with an oil change” which they’d charge £30 for.

Seeing as part of the full service was an oil and filter change I’m not too inclined to spend that amount when part of the process has already been carried out.

So is there any generally recommended system cleaner I can add to the oil tank? I use Wynne’s DPF cleaner once or twice a month so I was wondering if there’s anything along those lines I could use specifically for cleaning the oil system?

Flushing oil is old school, not meant for modern cars. Just make sure to do an oil n filter change way before schedule - some on the mk3 forum do it every 6,000 miles instead of the 12,000.
