brake pedal holding on brakes

Featured Replies

Hi Does anyone here know how to remove the pedal cluster? I have a 2009 Ka zetec where i have a link arm going from drivers side to passenrger side for the servo. The brake pedal was stcking down enough to bind the brakes. MAster cylinder i thought or servo. chenged those along with rear shoes and cylinders. Bled brakes and still its stays down by  1/4 inch enough to keeps the fronts on. Put your foot under the padel and lift it slightly and they release. I lubed all the linkage system and nothing seems to be stuck or tight. I did notice however the front calipers were still holding on , when jacked up, even when i lifted the pedal. Tap the calipers with a hammer and they release. Inspected the calipers and all is free. Nothing sticking. So i've ordered some new calipers just in case. But i still think it's something to do with the linkage system.

Anyone have any ideas/ There is nothing anywhere on the net about removing the pedal cluster or how to do it. I can see it but just wanted ot know if anyone had done one or hae any ideas ? Thanks

This car is 100% based on a Fiat 500, no Ford parts whatsoever

Check on the Fiat 500 forums, I guarantee this is a common problem

Yes, I think you will find a quick search for "Fiat 500 pedal assembly removal" will bring up the required info.

I have also seen mention of issues with the cross linkage which goes from left to right from above the passenger footwell and is part of the LHD to RHD conversion. I assume the Ka will have the same layout.
