Parcitic batt drop

Featured Replies

Does anyone know most common reason 06 Ka battery drop. Not showing on meter

If it's 'not showing on the meter' then you're probably doing it wrong. Parasitic draws can be either constant or intermittent. It's best to use two meters, one measuring total current flow from the battery, enabling you to see when excessive spikes in draw are occurring, and the other to probe individual circuits when the spikes are occurring to help you find it. You have to wait a certain amount of time after locking the car to allow modules to go to sleep, 20 mins may do, though I've seen an example that took an hour. You may need to trick the vehicle into believing that doors and the bonnet are shut in order for certain things to go to sleep. Disturbing the system by pulling fuses or otherwise disconnecting and reconnecting things can cause modules to wake up. A clamp meter on the battery allows you to avoid disconnecting a battery terminal. Comparing tiny voltage drops across fuses can help find significant current flow without the disturbance from actually pulling fuses. Plenty of demonstration videos to be found on youtube.
