Water sloshing around

Featured Replies

Hi there,

My daughter has a 2010 KA. There seems to be water getting in as we can hear it sloshing around behind the dash/glove  box. Twice now when going around a left hand corner it has sloshed over onto her left foot! Would this be getting in below the windscreen? Is it a common issue with these models?

Her heater doesn't seem to work consistently either, taking ages to heat up, or maybe just to come on?

Any suggestions where to start gratefully received

Tom

First need to work out whether it's coolant or rain water.

Could be heater matrix leaking if the heater isn't working properly.  Need to rule that out before looking into rain leaks.

Hi there,

It's def rain water, always bad after rain and there's a LOT of it!

Ok.  In that case, checking the cabin air intake would be the best place to start.  You will need to remove the wiper arms and the plastic scuttle panel below the windscreen to do that.

Hi there, Just to say that the issue has been solved! Taking the scuttle panel off I was able to see the the drain holes were completely full of water and the rubber outlets below completely gunked up. Cleaned out and water gushed out onto the ground! So all is good, many thanks for your assistance
