Couple of issues.

Featured Replies

Hello folks, new here. Thought I'd join this forum as I've had a lot of luck with troubleshooting on forums in the past (Ex-Renault owner so I spent a lot of time trowelling the internet!)

So, I drive a 2014 C-Max II, 1.6 TDCI and I've got a couple of niggling issues I can't seem to fix at this time, which I'd like to solve before MOT is due at the end of March.

The first, I have a single brake light failed, driver side. Now I've changed the bulb and I've used a wire brush (on a Dremel) to clean the contacts on the bulb holder. Neither of those things have fixed the issue and I'm curious as to whether anyone else has had (and solved) this issue?

The second, after a long period of time being irritated by the 'Tyre Pressure Sensor Not Detected' nonsense every 10 or so mile, I got all four TPMS replaced, and fantastic, the problem was gone! However, now I have a new 'issue' with I'm thinking the same issue. "Tyre Monitor Malfunction - Service Required" is the new warning ⚠️ I am getting. Does anyone have the faintest idea where to start with that?

The Tpms needs to be calibrated from within the menu of the instrument cluster after you check the presure is good in all 4 wheels, as for the brake light you have probably blown the fuse with a wire brush never do that if you didn't disconnect the battery first i do not recommend wire brush use contact cleaner that will protect your contacts from corrosion. Hope it helps have a good day
