Mondeo mk4 locking actuator assembly

Featured Replies

Hi, I've never posted on this forum before. I am hoping someone is helpful and has the knowledge and give advice on my query.

I purchased a replacement nearside front actuator for my 2012 Mk4 Mondeo. The part arrived from Germany to the UK within 2 weeks. Although boxed, there was very little packaging to protect the product during transit. On opening there were three components that had been rattling around the box. I think I may have figured out where on the actuator they fit, although I am unsure how to position the spring. I do hope that the actuator will be fully functional when the parts have been refitted into the replacement. In other words, does the fact that these separate bits have came loose make the actuator unusable. Your help/advice would be most appreciated.20231202_112242.thumb.jpg.0a6938640dfe9b5fa8c1dafbfa89573f.jpg

These photos are from a damaged actuator that I swapped out on my Mk 4 Mondeo estate.

It's the other side from yours.

The first photo in the same orientation as yours shows the metal bracket.

Looking in the second photo from the underside the metal peg holds the spring onto the bracket. the two arms of the spring go either side of some pegs which are hopefully to be found on your unit.

regards

Richard

Thankyou riz001, I can't see any metal pegs on the unit. I have mailed the supplier but no reply from them. I think I will strip out the old one and take it from there. Cheers again
