2019 KA+ sump plug torque ....

Hi, Anyone have sump drain plug recommended torque setting  ?

The part number of a replacement drain plug is I believe- Finis code  3936485

28nm for the 1.2 petrol, or 35nm for the 1.5 diesel.

So that would be "FT" and "VFT" for those without a torque wrench 🤣

Hi Iantt, thanks, it's what I had in mind 20 ftlb in old money 😄for 1.2 petrol.

This is important stuff. In the past I owned a Jaguar XJ40 and the sump plug was huge and brass. It was threaded into a very thin part of the aluminium sump and even moderate overtightening would crack the sump resulting in an oil leak. It was an engine out job to replace the sump. I never cracked mine but other members of the owners club did and it caused them a lot of pain and expense.
