Clutch Pedal Rumble

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just bought a Mk3 2.5 V6 Mondeo Ghia X (2001) and it drives lovely but I have noticed that when I change gear from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd I get a slight rumble or vibration in the clutch pedal. It seems to only occur if the revs are high and does not happen when I change from 4th to 3rd or 3rd to 2nd.

It only happens when the pedal is pressed almost to the floor but the gear change is happy to change without being fully depressed.

I am new to Ford and this is the first V6 I have had so I am not sure if this is me being paranoid or perhaps even the way I am driving the car.

Could it be a sign that the gearbox/clutch has a problem or maybe needs to have the gear oil changed?

Thanks in advance for any advice. :)
