Hi folks, hope you can help me out.

I currently have a 3 door Fiesta, 2013 plate, but need to change cars asap as got 2 kids and another on way so car is not feasible.

I have £6000 cash to spend on a used car and looking at 2015 plate cars, 5 door SUV's etc, diesel engine as i'll be doing around 600-700 miles a month in it, i've seen a lot of Kuga on the roads and was wondering whether these cars are probmatic ? I've read some horror stories so wanted to check first of all, I'm also looking at 2014 Quasqai's as heard these 2014 models are the most reliable, essentially just need a bigger family car to fit wife, and my toddler, 12 year old daughter and the new baby, any other car recommendations would help.

In the last few years I've had a Japanese car (Mazda, ford era, still got it 17yrs old), a Skoda (sold on to my daughter when we got the Focus), a Vw Golf, several Vauxhallsand now the Focus. I would buy any one of those makes, including Mazda esp if they improve rustproofing.  - except the Ford.

No doubt you'll get the good and bad points of the Kuga from the members who own them.

A few anecdotal comments on friends experience of other brands.

One has driven nothing but Mazda for 40 years. 

One has a Qashqai which I've not driven but the ride from a passenger perspective was not good. Seem to be quite a few issues on various reviews.

Honda - one friend kept an original CRV for 20 years and now has a Suzuki Vitara. Another is now on his 5th CRV after swapping from Mercedes in despair.
