Mk4 2.0 TDCI DPF issues

Featured Replies

I'm getting dpf faults on my 2010 Mondeo 2.0 TDCI. From what Forscan is telling me, the dpf is well and truly blocked. I've done a couple of static regens and used a few bottles of dpf cleaner in the fuel tank and a 9 hour trip to Scotland, no budge on the faults coming up and the car going into reduced performance.

I'm reluctant to take the dpf off to clean it as the corrosion around the exhaust leads me to think I won't get it back on again!

Is there a way to better clean the dpf other than with fuel additives and forced regens that I've already tried? Or perhaps they should have worked and my issue might be a dodgy dpf sensor?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm expecting to have to replace the whole exhaust fairly soon but if there's something fairly cheap I can do to get a few more months out of it then I'm keen to try. Cheers.

This works better than the fuel additives.

You need to use it when the engine is COLD and inject it down the DPF pipe from the sensor. Read the instructions carefully and make sure the exhaust is pointing away from anything.
