Mondeo Mk4 2.0 TDCI fuel rail pressure sensor issues

Featured Replies

I've got a very frustrating fault on my car. If I accelerate any faster than an absolute crawl, the EBS light comes on, the car has a huge dip in power, engine malfunction message comes on and the car sits in reduced performance mode. Usually I can turn the car on and off again and it all goes away for another ten minutes before doing it again.

Ran a diagnostic on Forscan and all errors point towards the high pressure fuel rail sensor, but it's telling me the pressure is both high and low. There's no leaking or seepage from the leak off pipes, fuel pump etc. Nothing obvious to see.

The fact its telling me its both high and low makes me think its a dodgey sensor on the high pressure rail. But from what I've read in other forums it suggest it could be the throttle position sensor.

Has anyone had the same trouble before I start chasing my tail and ordering replacement parts? Thank you!

I forgot to mention, twice now this problem has occurred and the car completely cut out. Turned straight  back on both times but it makes it much more of a concern.

What are the codes?

Hello. I'm getting both P1169 fuel rail pressure sensor in range but high, and P1168 fuel rail pressure sensor in range but low.
