3rd brake light staying on

Bit of a weird 1 with my 1.6tdci titanium. Driving a long at 70 then for a couple seconds feels like someone has put the brakes on then pings up saying engine malfunction check now and then 3rd brake light is sticking on now also. Anyone else had this problem??

    Start by using FORScan and reading the DTC's.

    The centre brake light is on it's own circuit and so it is possible for it to operate without the other two, but of course that's not something that is supposed to happen.

    Are you sure it's just the high level light staying on?  

    Brake light switch was my first thought but all 3 lights should be on if that's failed.

    Yeah it's just the 3rd light staying on, but when you press the brake they all come on brighter if you get what I mean

    Check the BCM for water ingress.

    The brake light switch on the pedal sends a signal to the BCM which turns on the brake lights.
