Lady driver 🤣 of forg kuga st-line X 2022 HEV Alarm issue

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a ford kuga ST-line X 2022.

Can someone tell me why it sounds like a tardis when it’s in reverse (I took it back to Ford and they said it was normal?)

and how can I disable the alarm whilst my dog is in the back, it doesn’t have a button on the drivers door like I’ve read in other threads and I don’t get any options when I switch the engine off?

many thanks Louise

It's normal

As it's a hev, phev, or fhev there is probably no noise from engine running for pedestrians to be aware of a vehicle getting close/reversing. There a warning sounder alert for anyone in the vicinity of a vehicle reversing. Especially important if blind/ partially blind person is near.

As for the dog and alarm, I doubt the alarm as interior ultrasonic detection on that trim level. So let your dog loose and see if alarm goes off.

Makes sense thank you, any idea how I disarm the motion sensors within the car?

Just checked an st line and hasn't got ultra sonics or alarm system setting. Can't see an st line x to see if it has sensors.

Edit. Maybe they have , they are so discreet now compared to older fords. Still can't find how to turn them off.

Found it. It's in the sync screen menus.

Awesome, I have a Spanish owners manual (live in Spain) and I have a long way to go before I can interpret it in Spanish. 👍

I’ve been through the setting/vehicle over and over again and there is no alarm system on my menu. I’ve searched through all the others and can’t see anything anywhere about the alarm so I guess I will have to drive to Ford and get them to show me. I will trawl the manual first.

I learnt a lot of other interesting functions whilst I was searching for the alarm system so thanks for your help.
