Grandson's Kuga 1.6 2014 diesel will need new belt shortly.

I will probly change this for him lock and change. Without seeing this engine is it just belt, pump etc or is there a chain involved like th 2L engines. ta

I'm not sure they made a 1.6 diesel Kuga in 2014?

If they did, it'll be 8 valve & single cam so belt only, no chain.

We also have a 2008 1.6 tdci totally reliable 70 k  belt only on this one changed due to age.

Sorry Tom, I have guessed wrong so after messaging it is in fact a Ford grand C Max sorry about that.

Same question Belt only ? thanks

Ah, that's better. :smile: 

Yes, 8v, single cam engine, so no chain.  Just cambelt and waterpump.  And while it's removed, you may as well change the auxiliary belt too.

For reference, a 2008 1.6 TDCI will be the old twin cam 16v engine.  That one does have a chain between the cams like the 2.0.

Thanks Tom, Gates kit just under £100 with pump etc. Agree will fit alternator belt.

I should have added. The cambelt was changed on our 2008 Fiesta by Tremont road garage Llandrindod Wells, sadly now a tyre and battery place due to Ford dealership costings too high and age of owner.

I had virus at this time (2 years total) Wife took it in and stayed with daughter at Llandrindod. No rattling chain and only averages 4K per year.
